# Installation

> Set up an HTC Vive headset with VIVE and SteamVR on a Windows PC, and install the Trainee Client.

On HTC Vive, the Trainee Client runs on a Windows PC and displays in the headset through SteamVR. Use it with the HTC Vive controllers.

## Prerequisites

1. Windows System should have the latest graphic update installed. We can check the updates [here](https://www.nvidia.com/en-in/geforce/drivers/)
2. Uninstall/remove the previous Altoura apps from the system.
3. [Here](https://www.vive.com/eu/support/vive-pro2/category_howto/system-requirements.html) are the system requirements for the Vive Pro 2

## Vive Pro2 Setup

Before using VIVE Pro 2, you’ll need to complete the setup process, which includes installing VIVE™ and SteamVR software, setting up the hardware, and defining your play area. Important: Make sure to use VIVE Link Box (2.0) and VIVE Headset Cable (2.0) included with VIVE Pro 2.

* Download the setup file on your computer from [https://www.vive.com/us/setup/](https://www.vive.com/us/setup/). Run the setup file.

* Follow the walkthrough to install the software and set up your hardware. When you see the hardware setup screen, follow the onscreen instructions to set up your base stations, headset, and controllers. You can follow the links below to learn how to set them up:

* Depending on the type of base stations you're using, see Installing [SteamVR Base Station 2.0](https://www.vive.com/eu/support/vive-pro2/category_howto/installing-base-station2.html#installing-base-station2) or [Installing Base Station 1.0](https://www.vive.com/eu/support/vive-pro2/category_howto/installing-the-base-stations.html).

* To connect VIVE Pro 2 to your computer using the link box, see [Connecting the headset to your computer](https://www.vive.com/eu/support/vive-pro2/category_howto/connecting-the-headset-to-your-computer.html).

* To know more about the controllers and how to turn them on, see [About VIVE Controllers](https://www.vive.com/eu/support/vive-pro2/category_howto/about-the-controllers---2018.html) and [Turning the controllers on or off](https://www.vive.com/eu/support/vive-pro2/category_howto/turning-the-controllers-on-or-off.html).

* To set up your play area, see [Play area](https://www.vive.com/eu/support/vive-pro2/category_howto/play-area.html).

After you install everything, use the SteamVR app to check that your VR equipment—including the base stations, headset, and controllers—is tracked.

Use SteamVR to change your play area. You might need to do this if you adjust the base stations or move your system to a different room.

Use the VIVE Console app to change headset-related settings. To find out how to change the display resolution, see [Changing headset display settings](https://www.vive.com/eu/support/vive-pro2/category_howto/changing-display-settings.html)

Once the above steps are done SteamVR setting developer setting looks like below image. While you are looking for the developer settings make sure its connected to PC.

## Run Altoura

Once the above setup is done, make sure you've downloaded the Altoura app from [here](https://www.altoura.com/downloads), and then installed it on your PC. Once the app is installed, launch it from the PC and put on the Vive headset. Make sure that the Vive is connected to the PC. At this point you should see the Altoura splash screen.
