What Are Procedures?
Procedures are the core workflow feature of Altoura Frontline. They represent digitized, step-by-step work instructions that guide field workers through tasks using augmented reality on a head-mounted display. Each procedure consists of:- Tasks: High-level groupings of related work (e.g., “Prepare Equipment”, “Replace Filter”).
- Steps: Individual actions within a task that the worker follows sequentially.
- 3D Models & Media: Visual aids including 3D models, images, and videos anchored in the worker’s physical environment.
- Anchor Gems: Spatial markers that position procedure content in the correct physical location.
Two Modes
Altoura Frontline Procedures operate in two distinct modes:Author Mode
Author Mode is for content creators who build and configure procedures. In this mode, you can:- Create and organize tasks and steps
- Place and position 3D models in the physical space

- Configure choice steps and completion criteria
- Preview how procedures will appear to operators
Operator Mode
Operator Mode is for field workers who execute procedures. In this mode, you can:- Browse and select available procedures
- Follow step-by-step guidance with AR overlays
- View 3D models, media, and annotations anchored in your environment
- Navigate through tasks using the procedure panel
