This page lists every button and gesture in the Trainee Client. The pages linked in each row explain them in more detail.

Meta Quest
HTC Vive

Controllers

To	Do this
Show or hide the Toolbelt menu	Press and hold the menu button on the left controller for 2 seconds
Press a button or tap an object	Touch it with the controller, or point the ray at it and pull the trigger
Grab an object	Put the controller on it, or point the ray at it, and hold the trigger
Self teleport	Push the joystick forward, aim, and release (either controller)
Turn 90°	Push the joystick left or right
Step back	Pull the joystick back
Adjust your height	Hold Grip and push the joystick forward or back

Hand tracking

To	Do this
Show or hide the Toolbelt menu	Touch the tips of both index fingers together to form an “A”
Press a button or tap an object	Touch it with your finger, or point the ray at it and pinch
Grab an object	Pinch or grab it, up close or with the ray
Self teleport	Palm up, thumb and index finger out, other fingers curled; curl the index finger to teleport

Show or hide the Toolbelt menu	Press and hold the menu button (above the trackpad) on either controller for 2 seconds
Press a button or tap an object	Touch it with the controller, or point the ray at it and pull the trigger
Grab an object	Put the controller on it, or point the ray at it, and hold the trigger
Self teleport	Push forward on the trackpad, aim, and release (either controller)
Turn 90°	Push left or right on the trackpad
Step back	Pull back on the trackpad
Adjust your height	Hold Grip and push forward or back on the trackpad

Voice commands

Say	To
”Next Step”	Go to the next step
”Go Back”	Go back a step
”Reset Step”	Reset the current step (while looking or pointing at the Toolbelt menu)

Voice commands aren’t available on Meta Quest.

On Both Headsets

Look at a button: you can also press Next and Back on the step panel by looking at them until they fill up (about 2 seconds). See Training Interface.
Walk: walking around within your play area moves you through the scene, the same as in real life.
Move the menu: if the Toolbelt menu is out of view, show it again to bring it in front of you.
