A Training can mark some objects as pause colliders, for example a hot surface, moving machinery or a hazard you must not touch. If you touch a pause collider, the Training pauses and warns you.
What Pauses the Training
The Training pauses when any of these touch or enter a pause collider:
- Your hand or controller
- Your head, for example if you lean into the area
- A tool you’re holding
- A training object you’re carrying
Pointing the ray at a pause collider and pressing select also pauses the Training.
When the Training Pauses
- A red tint appears around the edges of your view, and an error sound plays.
- A message card explains the hazard. If the Training doesn’t give its own message, you see “You have entered restricted area.”
- Next is hidden and Back can’t be pressed. You can’t interact with training objects, and any step video pauses. If the pause was caused by a training object you’re carrying, you can still interact with training objects.
Continuing the Training
There’s no button to press. Move your hand, controller, head or tool away from the pause collider, or release select if you were pointing at it. The Training carries on from where you were.
If you’re carrying a training object, moving just the object out isn’t enough. Move the hand or controller that holds it away from the pause collider.
The red tint clears as soon as you move away. The message card closes once you’ve moved away and it has been up for at least 3 seconds.
If the Training pauses and you’re not sure why, look at the message card. It usually names what you touched.
For Creators
To add pause colliders to a Training, see Pause Training. To remove them later in the Training, see Clear Pause Triggers.
