The Trainee Client saves your progress as you go. You don’t need to press a save button.

How Progress Is Saved

  • Each time you move to another step, your progress is recorded.
  • If you’re offline, the headset keeps your progress and sends it when you’re back online. It’s kept even if you close the app in between.
Before logging out, reconnect to the internet and leave the app open so it can send your saved progress. Progress that hasn’t been sent may be lost when you log out.

Resuming a Training

If the Training allows resuming (the creator turns on Enable Resume Experience), you can close it partway through and carry on later. You need an internet connection to resume. When the app finds your saved session, you’re asked “Do you want to resume the last experience?”
  • Yes: you continue from where you left off, in the same mode (Practice or Assessment).
  • No: the Training starts from the beginning.
You’re not asked, and the Training starts from the beginning, when:
  • The Training doesn’t allow resuming.
  • You didn’t get past the first step last time.
  • The Training has changed since your last session. You see “Training has been updated since your last session. Starting a new training session.”
  • The app can’t retrieve your saved session, for example because you’re offline.
If you choose Yes but the app can’t resume the saved session, the Training starts from the beginning.

Finishing a Training

On the last step, the Next button reads Exit. Tap it to finish the Training. Your completion is recorded and you go back to the Trainings list. There’s no separate completion or results screen. To do the Training again, open it from the list, or use Restart Training in the Toolbelt menu before you finish.

Offline Use

The headset keeps a copy of the Trainings list and of each Training you’ve opened.
  • While you’re signed in, you can open a Training offline if you’ve opened that version of it before. Resuming your previous session needs an internet connection.
  • If you use SSO and restart the app while offline, you’re taken to the login screen. Reconnect to sign in again.
  • If a Training hasn’t been downloaded yet and you’re offline, it doesn’t open. You go back to the Trainings list.
  • Some Trainings are set up by the creator not to be kept on the headset (Override Auto Cache Experience in the Dashboard). These load from Altoura Cloud each time you open them, so they can’t be opened offline.
  • Clear Cache in the Toolbelt menu deletes the downloaded Trainings and the saved list. You then need to be online to open them again. See Toolbelt Menu.
To check whether the headset can reach Altoura, look at Altoura Cloud in the User Profile screen. See Toolbelt Menu.
